Dear colleagues,
We would like to invite you to participate in the International
Summit on the actual problems of family placement of orphans and
abandoned children. The Summit is hosted by “Victoria” children
foundation with the help of the leading Russian and foreign family
placement experts.
Format of the event is supposed to be as an acquaintance with the
cutting-edge trends and tendencies (within the bounds of plenary
meeting), debates on the key special issues (within the bounds of
breakup group), elaboration of suggestions and recommendations (in
“Open Space”, “Round Table” or “Universal Cafe” format). There are
also special materials for substitute families (books, educational
supplies, games, etc.) and presentations of our partners:
foundations, NGO’s, associations, etc.
The aim of the Summit: accumulation, development and spreading of
the advanced experience for the most effective strategy and
approach in the sphere of family placement of orphans and abandoned
children.
Topics:
1) Development of the family placement system
2) Training for candidates for substitute parents
3) Child support
4) Substitute parents support
5) Shaping a supporting environment: partnership development,
family placement popularization methods, improvement of
professional skills.
Each topic is to be discussed within the bounds of Russian and
foreign situation and elaboration of the issues.
Participants: Russian and foreign experts/researchers, experienced
practitioners, authorities, substitute families, mass media,
representatives of NGO’s, funds, etc. Estimated number of
participants – 200 persons.
Date: November 28 – 30 (three full days from 10 p.m. till 7
p.m.)

All the initiatives will be taken into consideration. “Victoria”
children foundation takes all the costs on meals and handouts
(coffee breaks, lunch). During the selection of the applications
preferences will be given to those applicants ready to participate
in the Summit on their own account.
